Watercolor ?

This is the easy way to watercolor. Papertrey's new stamp set Watercolor Wonder.  I used this week's ColourQ challenge to get me started and then I was off.  Random stamping does not come easy to me. I like things organized but I think this turned out.

After stamping the background I focused on the sentiment. I die cut the word Hello from Cherry Cobbler and then stamped over it also in cherry Cobbler with PTI's new Wonderful Words: Hello stamp. I originally thought I would just layer on the die cut sentiment but the backgound was too busy for that and the word got lost so I thought to layer something behind and my daughter suggested the tag.  I think that sets if off much better.  I added a bit of seam binding to the tag that my daughter had on hand from one her projects.  It was squirted with water, scrunched and then microwaved to give it the scrunchy effect.  All in all I like how this turned out for my first try with this set :-)

Supplies:
Stamps: Watercolor Wonder, Wonderful Words: Hello (Papertrey Ink)
Paper: Cherry Cobbler, Kraft, White (SU)
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Cool Caribbean, Always Artichoke, Crumb Cake (SU)
Accessories: Seam binding, dimensionals
Tools: Wonderful Words: Hello die, Tag Sale #3 Die Collection (PTI)

Milk Carton for New Grandson

I made this little milk carton to give out to everyone after my daughter's baby was born in lieu of cigars. It's filled with blue and white M&Ms.  I used the SU milk carton die with my new Big Shot and it worked like a dream.  I used red sticky tape to seal up the carton and then added a strip of Baja Breeze Prints DSP all around the carton and used red sticky tape to secure that as well. I stamped a little red car and filled in the headlights with some silver rhinestones. The backside has his name and birthdate handwritten with a few red stars below.  I tied some Pool Party Baker's twine around a clip which I've had for years and which matched to perfection.  Hope everyone enjoys this little treat!

PTI Contest & ColourQ #176

Hi!  Today's card is another that I made for the Papertrey Ink anniversary contest. It also is this week's ColourQ challenge.  For PTI we are supposed to design a project  based on one of their designer's favorites. I chose a card by Maile Belles.

I didn't have the exact colors for this challenge so improvised with some that were close. I stamped Background Basics: Super Stripes in Tangerine Tango & Kiwi Kiss.  Then I ran the card through the Cuttlebug using the PTI Linen impression plate. The leaves are also stamped in Kiwi. The blossom is Pretty in Pink & Melon Mambo and it is popped up on a dimensional. That's it. Pretty straight forward.

Supplies:
Stamps: Embroidered Blooms, Turning a New Leaf, Background Basics: Super Stripes (PTI)
Paper: PTI White
Ink: Pretty in Pink, Melon Mambo, Tangerine Tango, Kiwi Kiss & Chocolate Chip (SU)
Accessories/Tools: Turning a New Leaf die (PTI), Linen Impression Plate (PTI), dimensionals

Edited 2/18:  Wahoo!  I was a ColourQ Courtier with this card!

PTI Contest

Papertrey Ink is having their anniversary contest which is to make a project based on a card by one of their designers. I love Square Prints and so casing Cristina Kowalczyk was a no-brainer.  I tell you though, lining up those squares is not easy!  I had a fun time stamping with my daughter who is now 3 days past her due date!!  Check out my card below :-)

Supplies:
Stamps: Square Prints, sentiment from Embroidered Blooms (PTI)
Paper: White (PTI)
Ink: Night of Navy, Bliss Blue, Ruby Red, Pretty in Pink (SU)

Retrosketch #49

Well I finally got a card made yesterday and when I went to post it to the sketch challenge today I found out that it had closed. Ah well!  I still had fun stamping with my daughter yesterday. Here is the card I made for RS#49.  The stamps had never been used and I should have cleaned them first because they didn't stamp cleanly. A lesson to not be in such a hurry to get stamping :-)

Supplies:
Stamps Boy Basics: Simple Circles (PTI), Heartfelt Mix for the sentiment (Wplus9)
Paper: Night of Navy, Real Red, Whisper White (SU)
Ink: Night of Navy, Real Red
Accessories: Stripes EF (SU), dimensionals
