New Ink Splash & DD#66

Good Morning! It's a beautiful, sunny day in the Pacific NW!  Today I have a card for the Dynamic Duos Challenge using a set I just got called Ink Splash.  The challenge is to use Pool Party and Black. These two colors are wonderful together!

I usually fuss and fuss over my cards but this one came together quickly.  I stamped the ink splashes, added the sentiment and followed it up with some dots and sequins. The white/black layers are popped up on dimensionals - kinda hard to see that. Have a great day! I think I'll go make some more ink splashes :-)

Supplies:
Stamps: Ink Splash (Neat and Tangled), Side by Side Sentiments (PTI)
Paper: Pool Party, Basic Black, Whisper White (SU)
Ink: Pool Party (SU), Versafine Onyx
Accessories: Pool Party Candy Dot (SU), silver rhinestone (Recollections), black sequins (Avery Elle), dimensionals

Edited 8/24: Wahoo!! My card was chosen for an Honorable Mention. Yay!

Round Repeats Thank You

This week I had a most amazing experience.  My daughter and I went to a local farmer's market which has lots of produce and crafters with their wares.  We saw a table with fused glass and both of us decided to make purchases and so I pulled out my credit card. Well this particular lady only accepted cash or checks and we didn't have enough money.  She looked at us and said why don't you take the items and just mail me a check. I must have given her a crazed look because she said that she was serious. It was $40 worth of merchandise! I couldn't believe it. She told us that no one had ever not mailed her the money. So this card is a thank you to her for being so trusting in a world where no one trusts anymore.

Supplies:
Stamps: Round Repeats, Thanks All Ways (PTI)
Paper: Whisper White - stamped layer (SU), Stamper's Select White - base (PTI)
Ink: Strawberry Splash, Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe (SU), Versafine Onyx Black
Accessories: silver rhinestone, dimensionals

Sketched Shapes CASE with a Variation

Here's another card that I made while stamping with my daughter.  I really like Maile Belles clean style and she has a great card using Sketched Shapes. I used that as the basic design of my card but changed the colors and added an extra something off to the left. Well you know that I have a never ending supply of enamel dots and they continue to call out to me :-)  I tucked the largest dot just under the top layer to hide it ever so slightly.  The ink colors that I used are 3 of this year's Stampin'Up In Colors. I love them! They just make me happy.  Hope you're havin' a great weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

P.S.  I guess that I should share that I used two different whites for this card.  I really like to stamp on SU's Whisper White. I think I get a good clean image and nice color. However, their white is not quite firm enough for the card base.  So I use Papertrey Ink's Stamper's Select White for the base which gives me a nice sturdy card.   What do you all like to use for white?

Supplies:
Stamps: Sketched Shapes (PTI)
Paper: Stamper's Select White (PTI), Whisper White (SU)
Ink: Strawberry Slush, Crisp Cantaloupe, Coastal Cabana (SU), Versafine Onyx Black
Accessories: Enamel dots - My Mind's Eye "Collectable" and Teresa Collins "He Said, She Said"; dimensionals

In Love With Triangles

My daughter and I had some fun in the stamping room yesterday.  I recently got Trendy Triangles by MFT and this month the Moxie Fab challenge is.... you guessed it. Triangles :-)  I also used the Clearly Besotted Challenge #3 for my color inspiration.

I went with a simple one layer card. I also love enamel dots so some of those had to go on the card too.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Supplies:
Stamps: Trendy Triangles (MFT), Bigger Blooms (PTI)
Paper: Whisper White (SU)
Ink: Crisp Cantaloupe, Strawberry Slush, Pear Pizzaz, Orchid Opulence, Smoky Slate (SU)
Accessories: Enamel Dots - My Minds Eye "Collectable" and Teresa Collins "He Said, She Said" & "Masquerade Party"

Grandson Titus is 6 Months Old

Babies just grow too fast! My cute little grandson is now 6 months old. I just got back from visiting him. Of course I visited my daughter and her husband but you know it's all about the baby :-)   I live in Washington and he lives in Georgia. You couldn't get much further away. Thank goodness for FaceTime!

I like simple so the card is pretty straight forward.  You can't see it well in the picture but the turquoise piece was run through my Big Shot with the Linen Impression Plate.   The tag and the number are popped up on dimensionals.  I wasn't sure exactly where I was going with the tag so I attached before stamping the bottom part of the tag. Oops! Don't do that.  When I stamped the turquoise arrows there must have been ink on the edge of the acrylic block and it got on the bottom of the 6. Rats! That's why there are 2 sequins there. Cover up!  And then when I stamped the black I stuck my arm on the black ink pad. Double rats!  Ah well. That's the fun of stamping, right?

Supplies:
Stamps: Live Love Life (PTI)
Paper: Crumb Cake, Naturals Ivory, Tempting Turquoise (SU)
Ink: Tempting Turquoise (SU), Versafine Onxy Black
Accessories: Sequins (Avery Elle), linen twine,  dimensionals, glue dots
Tools: By the Numbers die, By the Numbers Mat die, Linen & Canvas Impression Plate (PTI), Ticket Corner punch (SU), 1/8 inch circle punch, QuickStik Craft Tool (Lifestyle Crafts)

Happy 6 month birthday Titus! You're half a year old! How did that happen?

STS#1

This is my second card for the new Seize the Sketch Challenge.

I don't think this card turned out as well as yesterday's card. I could tell you all the things that I think are wrong with it but let's just say that it doesn't pop for me.  Actually I think that it looks a bit better in real life than in the picture but you'll have to take my word on that :-)

The banner stands up over the candles which are popped up on dimensionals.

I'll be back tomorrow with one more sequin card. Thanks for stopping by today!

Supplies:
Stamps: Pedal Pusher (PTI)
Paper: Tempting Turquoise, Cool Caribbean, Whisper White (SU)
Ink: Tempting Turquoise, Old Olive, Real Red, Daffodil Delight (SU), Versafine Onyx Black

STS#1 and FM121

I've gone goofy over sequins so I have some cards to share over the next couple of days that have lots :-)  I got mine from Avery Elle and really like the fact that each color group has at at least 2 different sizes and 2-3 different shades of the color. So much variety and fun! I used my new QuickStik to pick them up which made handling the sequins so easy.

My first card is for 2 challenges - the new Seize the Sketch Challenge and the Friday Mashup Challenge. Unfortunately FM121 closed last night but I still enjoyed making the card. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Each star is popped up on a dimensional.

The Challenges:

Supplies:
Stamps: Mini Blooms (PTI)
Paper: Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White (SU)
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black
Accessories: Sequins (Avery Elle), black hemp twine, dimensionals (SU), Glue Dots
Tools: 2 sizes of star punches, Stripes EF (SU), Fishtail Flag Stax die, Peek-a-Book Dots die (MFT), Score-tape, QuickStik
